Teaching & Practitioner Work:
I am very passionate about dance in education and fully believe the process of learning and creating should be enjoyable. When teaching I support an environment that uses experimental and playful approaches.
My style of teaching is dynamic, athletic and rhythmical. The material focuses on connection to the centre allowing reach to the extremities while moving in and out of the floor with athletic flair. Some key components include: sequential floor work, dynamic vocabulary and agile material challenging the whole body.
I began focusing my work as a dance practitioner in 2011 with Instep Dance Company (where I still invest much of my time ).Within my interchanging roles of Teacher, Choreographer and Practitioner I have lead on projects spaning from professional / advance technique to community projects, which include:
Inclusive classes and workshops, intergenerational work, primary and early years, CAT (centre of advanced training) classes and private social sessions.
Through my teaching I have worked with a breath of ages from 10 months to 81 years old.
